The landlord’s cat, a Chinese mainland female duo singer-songwriter group, is composed of guitarist Wu Peiling and lead singer Wang Xinyi.
In 2013, The Landlord’s Cat officially came into existence. In 2015, they released their first original single “Autumn Brew”《秋酿》 on NetEase Cloud Music and received some attention; in the same year, they released a cover of Song Dongye’s song 《斑马斑马》”Zebra Zebra” on the internet. In 2017, they released the group’s first album titled “The Landlord’s Cat”《房东的猫》; in the same year, they sang the ending song “Cloud Smoke Falls”《云烟成雨》 for the anime series “I am Jiang Xiaobai 《我是江小白》. In 2018, they released their second album “Softness”《柔软》, in the same year, they won the “Hard Ground Roasting Night·2017 Annual NetEase Cloud Music Original Awards” for the Best New Artist. In January 2019, on January 6th, they won the “Q China 2018 Annual Music Awards” for Best Independent Music Group; on January 20th, they won the “Hard Ground Roasting Night·2018 Annual NetEase Cloud Music Original Awards” for the Group Award.
